IMPORTANT way to Save Money on your Vacation:

With changes that have taken place on all the big property listing sites we wanted to to know that we don't and will never charge a "Booking Fee" for our cabins through our website or over the phone. VRBO, HomeAway, VacationRentals.com has started charging a 9% "Booking Fee" in February 2016. This is above the thousands annually we pay to advertise on their site. None of this money goes to the property owners, it goes directly to the advertising site. AirBnb & TripAdvisor both charge between 8-20% to the travelor when booking a place to stay. Local property management companies are also jumping on this band wagon and charging booking or reservation fees despite charging the property owners at least 35% of each reservation. Your best way to save money is to research properties on these sites then google the name and town of the property and book directly with the owner. Most owners do accept credit cards so you are protected financially as well as the added benefit of getting to deal with the person who knows most about the property and area you'll be visiting.
